2nd Annual LCS Community Craft and Yard Sale – April 15th in MS/HS Gym
This community event is open to everyone and anyone in the community is welcome to secure a spot at the sale! Do you have a friend or a neighbor that needs help advertising their home business or may have some unwanted items to sale? Let them know about our 2nd Annual LCS Community Craft and Yard Sale sponsored by the LCS Band Boosters. The sale will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2017 in the MS/HS Gym from 7:30am until 1:00pm. The cost for a 10 x10 booth is $25.00. First come, first serve; you bring your own tables and chairs. Deadline for space rental is Thursday, April 13th. Please call Lisa Barger at (704) 736-4549 to reserve your space and send payment to the Elementary office marked with your name, items to sale and your email address or go to My Payments Plus under “BAND” or come by the Elementary office to pay for your booth. Last year’s event was a huge success and every spot reserved! Come on out and join the fun!
Lost & Found
We will have all of our Lost & Found items on display in the Elementary Gym Lobby during our After School Care Program. Please come and take a look before the end of the day on April 7th or we will send it all off to the Goodwill Thrift Store in Lincolnton. We will try to have it organized by colors and if any of the items have a name inside it, we will do everything we can to get it returned back to your student.

Summer Driver’s Ed
The NC Driving School will be holding two Driver’s Ed classes at Lincoln Charter this summer. There will be a class at the Denver campus from June 5-June 9 and one at the Lincolnton campus from July 24-July 31. Both classes are from 8:00 am-2:30 pm and transportation will be provided from campus to campus. Registration will be limited to 50 students. Sign up and registration is open on My Payments Plus. Students must be 14 ½ years old on the first day of driver’s ed class in order to be eligible. Contact Cindy Chapel (Lincolnton) or Lois Strain (Denver) with any questions.

The Lincolnton campus will be having our next town hall meeting on Tuesday, May 9th at 6:00 pm in the MPR. This will be an opportunity for the admin team to give updates as well as answer questions.
EF Tour Jean Day
Get your jean pass for Thursday, April 13th and help support the students attending the educational trip to NYC and Boston who are raising money for their travel expenses. Students will explore, learn, and experience such sites as Quincy Market, the Freedom Trail, Lexington and Concord, Salem, the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, and the 9/11 Memorial and Museum. Thank you for helping to support our LCS students attending the trip. Jean passes can be purchased on MPP.

The Bylaws have been revised to reflect a simpler Board structure and to add some clarifications. The proposed updates can be viewed at Proposed 2017 PTO Bylaw Changes. Please join us at the PTO Board meeting on 4/4 to discuss your questions.
Upcoming 2017 Elections – Nominations can now be submitted at either the ES or MS/HS office or via email. Current Board Members that were voted onto the Board in May 2016, and have changed positions on the Board, will be on the ballot for those transitioned positions. The committee will be seeking nominations for the following positions:

Middle School Madness
Departure/Arrival for 4/11 Field Trips
The charter bus will be staged in the parking spaces between the MS/HS building and the K-1 building. Parents, please follow the traffic pattern to drop your students off near the flagpole in front of the MS/HS building. Busses will return to the same pick-up locations. Please use the student lot for parking as you wait for your students to return. That will ensure that parent vehicles do not block the space that the charter buses will need to use. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org with questions.
6th grade parents need to drop students off at 7:40am. We will leave LCS at 8:00, and return to campus around 5:15pm.
7th grade parents need to drop students off at 7:15am. We will leave LCS at 7:30, and return to campus around 5:15pm.
8th grade parents need to drop students off at 5:45am. We will leave LCS at 6:00am. The early time is so that we can catch our scheduled ferry to Bald Head Island. We will return to LCS on 4/12 around 4:00pm.

Prom is a formal event that is open to Senior, Junior and Sophomore students. Tickets are available for purchase on MPP now through April 28th. Early bird discount of $10 off per ticket ends on March 17th.
