The time has come once again for COLE (Conjunction of Literacy Engagement) to commence for the 3rd year at Lincoln Charter School! We are the reigning 2-time champions and are looking to build a team ready to keep the title here at LCS! So what is COLE? Well…it is Battle of the Books, a program many have probably heard of before but because only schools with a Media Center and full time Media Specialist can participate in the state B.O.B program the Charter Schools in the state created COLE. We read the same books and follow the same “battle” rules as Battle of the Books. If you have never heard of Battle of the Books, it is a very rigorous reading competition that requires time and commitment. Our Middle School COLE program is designed for students in 6th through 8th grades and while it is rigorous, we work hard to make it a fun after school club that really encourages the love for reading and team spirit! We will begin soon and it will consist of meeting for about an hour on Wednesday afternoons to read our books and prepare for a battle that will be in the spring. All applications will be reviewed and a team will be chosen based off of student answers and teacher input. You will be notified via email by Ms. Antczak and India Allan, COLE Coordinators, if your child has been selected for the team. The team will consist of 12 members, or regular participants, and 3 alternates.
