Veterans Day – Deadline is MONDAY!
Our annual Veterans Day Breakfast and Program will take place on Friday, November 10th at 8:30 am in our MS/HS Gym.  Veterans will receive their breakfast free of charge. A student must have a Veteran guest to attend the breakfast and program. All other attendees will be charged $8.00 per plate (including students).  All meals must be prepaid via My Payments Plus.  Order deadline is Monday, November 6th.  No late orders will be accepted.    

Homecoming 2017 Greek Week
Spirit Week, November 13-17
All students and staff are encouraged to participate in Homecoming Spirit Week.  K-8 students are not required to meet K-8 dress code requirements if they are participating in the Spirit Week theme days (please adhere to HS Dress Code). All grade levels are required to follow meet HS Dress Code during spirit days.

Friday Dionysus Toga Party The Toga was inspired by the greeks, but perfected by the Romans.
A toga, simply described, is a long piece of fabric draped over the shoulders in one of several ways. It was usually worn over some kind of tunic or other undergarment.

College Week
November 6-10, 2017
All students are encouraged to take part in College Week.  Students may wear college apparel in place of LCS Uniform/Dress Code.

Biscuits are Back
Biscuits are back for breakfast for all students K-12!  Every Tues and Thurs biscuits will be delivered fresh to your student’s classroom by 7:30 am.  We are selling Plain Biscuits for $2.00, Cinnamon Raisin biscuits for $2.50, Sausage Biscuits for $3.00 and Bacon, Egg and Cheese Biscuits for $3.50.  Place your orders on MyPaymentsPlus by Friday at 12pm for Tuesday delivery and by Tuesday at 12 pm for Thursday delivery.  Thank you in advance for your support, all profits benefit K-5 classrooms technology needs!

LCS men and women had great regional meets in Asheville – both teams are Regional Champions. Drew Zink won the men’s 1A West Regional race and Emily Elliott took 2nd place in the girls race. Both teams will run for the State Championship this weekend.

HS Fall Playoff Recap
Congratulations to the LCS Volleyball team on a great season.  Our girls made it to the Sweet 16 of the NCHSAA tournament before losing in three sets to Polk HS.

Our Women’s HS Tennis team also lost to Polk HS in the second round of the State playoffs.  It was a record setting year for our girls.  Emerson Crichton took runner-up at the NCHSAA regional tournament and lost in the State tournament to the eventual State Champion from Tarboro HS.

HS Men’s Soccer will enter the playoffs as a top seed with a bye in the first round.  LCS will host this Saturday.

The next Freeze Pop Friday and Float Friday will be THIS WEEK, November 3.

Our General meeting will be NEXT Tuesday 11/7/2017 immediately following the Town Hall Meeting held by administration. The Town Hall Meeting is a great venue for sharing thoughts and to ask questions.

Lost and Found
We will be cleaning out the Lost and Found items and donating them to Christian Ministries on 11/22.  Please visit the front office to look through the items your student may have lost!

Chess Club
Chess club will begin on Wed. November 8 from 3:30-4:30 pm in the MPR, elementary students will be gathered together in the elem gym and then transported to the MPR as a group.   

Thanksgiving Feast for K-5 families
Thanksgiving Feast will be held on Monday, November 20, 2017.  The event will be held at the Lincolnton Campus in the Elementary Gym.  The cost is $8.00 per plate, please place your order on My Payments Plus.  A plate consists of ham, turkey, dressing with gravy, sweet potatoes, green beans, cranberry sauce, dinner roll, pumpkin pie and water.  Order deadline is Thursday, November 16th at 4pm.  No late orders will be accepted.  Please note this event is only for K-5 students and their parents; no 6-12 students will be allowed to leave class to attend the Thanksgiving Feast.  The lunch schedule is here so you can make plans to join us when your child’s class is having lunch that day!

Attendance Race Update!
Mrs. Hull’s class won the pizza party for having the most points in Q1!  We had a drawing for all the students who had perfect attendance and Abigail B, Kade M and Lyric R won for the months of August, September and October.  Congratulations to all of our winners!

8th Grade Field Trip
8th grade field trip to Atlanta is back! This is based on feedback have received from students, parents and teachers. The trip will be run completely through Gerber tours. Some highlights:

  • Tour Clemson University
  • Lunch at the Varsity
  • Tour of the World of Coca-Cola
  • Tour of the College Football Hall of Fame
  • Dinner at Mary Mac’s Tea Room
  • Visit the Georgia Aquarium
  • Visit the Center for Civil and Human Rights
  • Tour the Martin Luther King Jr. Center
  • Dinner at Hard Rock Cafe
  • Visit the Jimmy Carter Library and Museum

There is no school for students K-8 as this time is designated for parent/teacher conferences.  

High School Happenings
Information Session for First-Generation College Students
We hope you’ll join us for a special event on Carolina’s campus for first-generation students and their families. This event will feature an information session and campus tour, panel discussion with current students, and lunch on campus.  The event will be held on Saturday, November 11 beginning at 9:00 a.m. and ending at 2:00 p.m.
