Spirit Week, November 13-17
All students and staff are encouraged to participate in Homecoming Spirit Week.  K-8 students are not required to meet K-8 dress code requirements if they are participating in the Spirit Week theme days (please adhere to HS Dress Code). All grade levels are required to follow meet HS Dress Code during spirit days.

Friday Dionysus Toga Party The Toga was inspired by the greeks, but perfected by the Romans.
A toga, simply described, is a long piece of fabric draped over the shoulders in one of several ways. It was usually worn over some kind of tunic or other undergarment.

The first LCS Town Hall Meeting of the year will be tonight at 6:00 pm in the MPR.  We hope you will join us.

Yearbooks for each level are on sale through Jostens now.  LCS produces three different yearbooks, and direct links to purchase yours are below.  Order online by November 24th for the lowest price.

Please note that students in both Lincolnton and Denver share a combined book at each level, so there is no need to differentiate between campuses.  

Biscuits are Back
Biscuits are back for breakfast for all students K-12!  Every Tues and Thurs biscuits will be delivered fresh to your student’s classroom by 7:30 am.  We are selling Plain Biscuits for $2.00, Cinnamon Raisin biscuits for $2.50, Sausage Biscuits for $3.00 and Bacon, Egg and Cheese Biscuits for $3.50.  Place your orders on MyPaymentsPlus by Friday at 12pm for Tuesday delivery and by Tuesday at 12 pm for Thursday delivery.  Thank you in advance for your support, all profits benefit K-5 classrooms technology needs!

HS XC
Our Eagles XC team has again made history!  Both the Men’s and Women’s teams finished runner-up in the NCHSAA XC Championships this past weekend.  The men were paced by Drew Zink’s 3rd place finish (16:44) and the women were led by Emily Elliott’s 9th place finish (20:29.)

Elementary Excitement
Thanksgiving Feast for K-5 families
Thanksgiving Feast will be held on Monday, November 20, 2017.  The event will be held at the Lincolnton Campus in the Elementary Gym.  The cost is $8.00 per plate, please place your order on My Payments Plus.  A plate consists of ham, turkey, dressing with gravy, sweet potatoes, green beans, cranberry sauce, dinner roll, pumpkin pie and water.  Order deadline is Thursday, November 16th at 4pm.  No late orders will be accepted.  Please note this event is only for K-5 students and their parents; no 6-12 students will be allowed to leave class to attend the Thanksgiving Feast.  The lunch schedule is here so you can make plans to join us when your child’s class is having lunch that day!

8th Grade Field Trip – Deadline Coming Soon!
The deadline to sign up and is November 10th along with a $75 deposit. We are organizing this trip through Gerber Tours and the sign up is through their website: https://accounts.gerbertours.com/ and the registration code is 13DFD112. Right now there are not enough participants for this trip to work.

Senior Ad Prices increase on November 20th.
Now is the time to start gathering those photos of your “babies” young and old.  In addition to high school seniors, elementary and middle school “graduates” will have the opportunity to be featured in the ads section of their respective yearbooks this year.  Go to Jostens.com to upload pictures, enter your message, choose your layout and pay for your ad.

ACT Student Champion Award
Applications are open for the ACT Student Champion Award! The ACT Student Champion Award recognizes one student in each state who is tenacious and persistent, no matter the challenge, and is prepared for life after high school with a goal in mind and plan in place.

ACT Student Champions receive a $500 non-renewable scholarship, certificate, plaque, and state-level recognition.

Please encourage students in the graduating class of 2018 who have taken the ACT who fit the following criteria to apply:

  • A student who has overcome challenges and can articulate education and career actions
  • Students must have a composite ACT score of a 22 on a single test date or a 3.0 or greater on a 4.0 scale
  • Preference will be given to underrepresented and/or first-generation college students.

Applications can be found at www.act.org/readinesschampions. Applications are due December 31, 2017, and champions will be notified on or before April 2, 2018. If applicants are under the age of 18, they must complete this form in addition to the application.  All questions may be directed to ccrc@act.org.
