Student Life
Talon Challenge
The Talon Challenge was started in 2009 to build upon the rivalry between Thomas Jefferson Classical and Lincoln Charter with a goal to instill an atmosphere of service within the schools’ athletic departments.  The schools identified the V Foundation as the recipient of all proceeds from this event.  The V Foundation was chosen for multiple reasons: its relevance to North Carolina, the foundation’s pledge that 100% of direct donations would fund cancer research and the impact that cancer has had on both school’s communities.

Congratulations to Foster Hutchinson and Anna Barner for their excellent performances in Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol through the Masterworks School of the Arts in Mooresville.  The 6th grade class went on a field trip in December to watch their classmates transform the Charles Mack Center in to Victorian England.

Future Olympian
Congratulations to Giovanna DeSieno for being invited to a training camp with USA Luge in Lake Placid, NY.  Gio worked out with Olympic Luge coaches at the Olympic Training Center to hone her skills.  Hopefully in a few years we will see Gio zooming down the track on a luge during the Winter Olympics.
