The annual Leadership Institute’s You Are My Valentine Fundraiser is open now on MPP until February 5th. Send your Valentine a sweet treat to be delivered to HR on February 14th. You must complete the attached form on MPP for delivery (Grade, HR, To, From)

Yearbooks for each level are on sale through Jostens now. LCS produces three different yearbooks and you can order online at Jostens.com.
Please note that students in both Lincolnton and Denver share a combined book at each level, so there is no need to differentiate between campuses.
Yearbook Recognition Ads
The last day to complete ads is February 12.
Now is the time to gather those photos of your “babies” young and old. In addition to high school seniors, elementary and middle school “graduates” will have the opportunity to be featured in the ads section of their respective yearbooks this year. Go to Jostens.com to upload pictures, enter your message, choose your layout and pay for your ad. Please note: All steps must be completed online prior to February 12.
Blood Drive Update
Thank you to everyone who supported the Blood Drive last Thursday. We collected 49 units. Great job! For the year, we have collected 135 Units. Our goal for the year is 200+ units, which will allow us to offer scholarships to 2 deserving Seniors.
Love for Haiti
Ms. Lynsey Waddle, 2nd Grade Teacher, will be traveling to Haiti as an educational consultant to improve the educational opportunities at a local school in Haiti. While there, she desires like to support the primary basic needs of the students, socks and underwear. Please join us in contributing to this mission if you so choose. Half Day After School Plans
Tuesday February 20th, 2018 is a half day for students due to professional development for our staff. We will offer After School Care on this half day from 11:30 am to 6:00 pm for K through 8th grade students. If you have not yet registered for our ASC program, you must do that prior to your student attending this Thursday. There is an optional field trip to Kate’s Skate in Gastonia offered for your kiddos. Payment MUST be paid in advance on MPP in order for your student to attend the field trip. We will have onsite activities for students not attending the field trip. Please click here for full details for this day.

Elementary Sweetheart Ball – Friday, February 9th, 7pm-9pm
The dance is next week! All K-5 students are invited to attend with their parent/guardian. Tickets are on MPP and are $5 for one child+adult, or $10 per Family. Tickets at the door increase to $6/$12, respectively. If you are able to help either before, during, or after the event, please contact Lisa Pleasant and indicate your availability. K-5 Staff and their families are invited to attend at no charge and should RSVP with this form.
PTO Board – Nomination Period Now through February 26th
Are you looking to take a more active role at our school? Being on the PTO Board or a special committee is a great way to do it! All positions open up every year and we would love to have some new faces with new ideas! Whether you work full-time, part-time, or in the home, we have positions for all levels of availability. Don’t be afraid to inquire and see what may be a good fit.
Nominations are being accepted now through February 26th, using this nomination form. You can nominate yourself or someone else (with their permission) for any position on our Board. If you have any questions, please email us, or better yet… come to our PTO meeting next week.
Next PTO Meeting – February 5th
Our next PTO Meeting will be held Monday, February 5th at 6:30pm in the Upper Building Multi-Purpose Room. Meetings are held the first Monday of each month, unless otherwise communicated. Check our Facebook Page for up to date information.
Track Attack 2018 Logo Contest
After three years, PTO is retiring the current Track Attack logo and having a contest open to all students to design a new one. Contest will run February 5th through March 9th. Check out our website for more details. We are excited to see everyone’s ideas.

Overnight Field Trips
8th Grade – Atlanta
Please make sure you go on to your Gerber Tours account and make sure payments and fundraising credits are updated and accurate
7th Grade – Camp Weaver and UNC Chapel Hill
The trip will take place March 27-28. Students will travel to Camp Weaver, in Greensboro, for a day and night of outdoor activity. The following morning, students will rise and travel to UNC Chapel Hill for a day of exploration on a college campus. Specifics, including costs, chaperones, etc, are being finalized and will be released as soon as they are available.
Parent College Info Sessions
February 6th & 8th
Does applying for college seem like a daunting task?
Lincoln Charter’s Guidance Department and Administration will hold several sessions that will give age-specific information to parents – to empower parents to advocate and support your child(ren) throughout the college application process. These sessions will last approximately an hour and are open to all interested parties, regardless of location.
Topics that will be covered:
What specific steps should I take during my child’s freshmen/sophomore/junior year?
What role does Lincoln Charter take during this process?
What are my child’s responsibilities during this process?

Parent Resource Night
Hosted by Pine Lake Prep Charter School in Mooresville
This parent resource night will highlight over a dozen local organizations to support the well being of families. A few topics discussed will include: recognizing student stress, depression, and anxiety. Please feel free to join PLP’s guidance department on Feb. 7th from 5:30-8:00pm at their STEM building.
