The cost of the trip, which includes charter bus transportation, 4 meals, a day & night at Camp Weaver, campfire snacks, and a tour of UNC Chapel Hill, will be $105.

Full details of the trip, as well as chaperone information will be sent home with the 7th grade students.
The middle school, in conjunction with 9th grader Makayla Croce, will be holding a Penny War to help raise funds and awareness for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Makayla is one of twelve students in the Charlotte area to be partnered with with the LLS in their dedication to fund research, find cures and ensure access to treatments for blood cancer patients.
The Penny War will be a competition between the Nests. From February 12-20, 6 containers will be housed on both the 7/8 hallway and 6th hallway. Students are encouraged to bring loose change to add to the “war.” Any silver coin (nickel-5pts, dime-10pts, quarter-25pts) will add to the Nests running point total. However, every penny will subtract from the Nests running point total. In the spirit of competition, students should add pennies to their competing Nests’ containers.
Junior Beta Club members have been tasked with researching and providing awareness materials pertaining to Leukemia and Lymphoma for their fellow middle school students.
