Middle School Moments
MS Chromebooks
On Thursday May 17, 6th and 7th grade teachers will be collecting the students’ chromebooks and chargers for the summer.  This will allow for the safe-keeping of the technology and provide opportunity for software updates and repairs. All devices will be returned to the students at the beginning of next school year.

8th grade students will be keeping their chromebooks as they transition to high school.

8th Grade Promotion Picnic
On Tuesday May 22, the 8th grade students will be spending the day at Lake Norman State Park as a celebration for their completion of middle school.  The day is intended to provide one last opportunity, as middle schoolers, for the students to spend time together. The swim area is open and a permission slip to swim will be sent home to all parents.  Students will also be able to hang up their hammocks, play sports or just relax and listen to music with their friends. Food and drink will be provided (hot dogs, hamburgers) but if students want to bring their own snacks, that is also encouraged.

Nest Olympics
On Friday May 18, all MS students will be participating in the 1st Annual Nest Olympics.  Nests will be competing in a litany of events ranging from relay races to volleyball to kickball.  This is a day that is designed to be fun and promote friendly competition and camaraderie. Please have your student dress in athletic shorts, close-toed shoes and a shirt that matches their Nest’s color.  Water coolers will be provided, but individual water bottles are encouraged – please have the student’s name written somewhere on the bottle. Lunch will run as normal.
