Parents, please be on the lookout for the 2018 School Board ballot.  Voting should open this week, the ballot will be sent out to all families via e-mail.  

We are also currently collecting responses for our annual parent survey.  This survey allows Lincoln Charter to improve what we do. We compare these results to previous years – to track progress.  Your participation and constructive criticism is VERY appreciated!

Last Blood Drive for this school year, May 30, from 8:00 AM – 11:00 AM
You can help to save up to three lives in the local community. Community Blood Center of the Carolinas will be hosting our blood drive Wednesday, May 30th.

Everyone is welcome to donate, feel free to bring a friend. To date we have collected 183 Units, our goal for the year is 200+ units. At this level we are eligible for $2,500 in student scholarship.

LCS Little Library- Thank you to Lana Yousef and Ella Plemmons
Lana Yousef and Ella Plemmons have created, donated and installed a brand new “LCS LITTLE LIBRARY” for our entire community to enjoy.  Please find the lending library next to the playground.  Please borrow a book, donate a book, and be sure to latch the door when you are finished!  Thank you for enriching our community!!

Check out our HS art students’ soft sculpture service learning “monsters” our kg students dreamed up!! Each KG student drew an imaginary monster.  Their HS buddy then created this special character for each child! Photo Folder

Men’s Tennis
Congratulations to our Men’s Tennis Team for their Runner-up performance in the State Championship.  This has been the most successful tennis season in LCS history: 16 wins, State Runner-Up, Doubles State Champs (Parker Powell and Jackson Law,) Conference Singles Champion – Jimmy Sherrill, 12 consecutive wins, Lake Norman Tennis Association Scholarship winner – Grant Swicegood

Track Attack 2018
It’s never too early to start planning for our 2018 Track Attack event. If you have ideas/suggestions and are interested in helping plan this amazing fundraiser for our school next year, please email the PTO at denverlcspto@gmail.com. We have many roles with different levels of participation to suit all types of availability.

Calling all gr 8 students, now is the time to shed those solid color polos, tan pants and black shorts!  We’ll take your gently used middle school uniforms in the lower building front office!

Community News
Summer Tutoring Opportunities
Help prevent the summer slide and prepare for the upcoming school year.  We have several teachers interested in providing summer one-on-one learning enrichment.  Please contact the LCS office if you are interested. We have support in both math and English language arts.

Pinky Swear Kids Triathlon
Saturday, June 2 at Ingersoll Rand, Davidson NC
Registration now available www.pinkyswear.org/kids-tri-charlotte-2018 join Lincoln Charter’s team. The Pinky Swear Triathlon is a non-timed and non-competitive race for kids of all abilities with fundraising for the Pinky Swear mission to help kids with cancer and their families. The triathlon registration is $35.
Ages 6-10: 75 yard swim, 1.5 mile bike, .5 mile run
Ages 11-14: 150 yard swim, 3 mile bike, .75 mile run
Ages 15-18: 200 yard swim, 4.5 mile bike, 1 mile run
