What is an Engaged Eagle?
An adult family member, guardian and/or relative, who engages in volunteering at LCS. This means you! Your time and talent are what makes Lincoln Charter a very special place. Consider the difference you will make in a young person’s life when you volunteer.
What is the Engaged Eagle challenge?
To volunteer 30 hours per year. Thirty hours are easily reached when you divide it by 10 months of school.
You make a positive difference in your child’s future each time you step onto campus. Research shows every student can benefit because it develops role model relationships, creates opportunities for children to communicate with other adults while allowing the teacher to work individually with students.
Does LCS know that I am busy and I don’t have time to volunteer?
Yes, that is why we challenge you to go the extra step. Take time off from work or contact the volunteer coordinator with event ideas you want to create for weekends or evening. Your time is precious and a volunteers monetary value “is $24.69/hour. (WASHINGTON, April 19, 2018) –Independent Sector”.
Keep track of the volunteer hours that you completed for extra projects and leadership roles. Click this link, Log Your Hours, follow the prompts on SignUpGenius.com and your time will be recorded. There are countless hours that have not been recorded yet, so please take a few minutes to go online, make an account, and document your time. Contact Brenda DeYoe, Parent Volunteer Coordinator, with questions.
Thank you to all the volunteers who have shared your time & talent in your child’s school this year. Bravo!

Elementary Art-From Mrs. Swengros
Hello all my creative people. The month of November brings our painting unit and we have started our Art Talks. We are practicing using our art language to describe artworks and techniques used.
During our painting unit, smocks/aprons are provided. This year we are using crayola washable paint and it should come out easily if it gets on their clothing. If there is a difficult spot, please treat, wash and repeat. Do not dry in the paint.
Art resources: On youtube, search Art for Kids hub. There are hundreds of videos and the students have been bringing me amazing work from home!

We will sort the yearbooks by campus when they arrive. The deadline to order is typically Valentine’s Day, but the price is cheaper the sooner you order.
Many, Many thanks to our Book Buddies. Our library could not run without your help! We appreciate all you have done so far this year.
