Homecoming 2018-2019
December 3-8
Lincoln Charter Homecoming is an annual K-12 tradition.  Homecoming is a week long celebration including K-12 Spirit Week, LCHS Banner Contest, HS Pep Rally and the Homecoming Court Presentation.  The festivities end with the annual High School Homecoming Dance.

All students and staff members are encouraged to take part in the tradition of spirit week.  Spirit Week is about celebrating being a part of the Eagle Community. We look forward to alumni returning for the Homecoming games.

Angel Tree
Lincoln Charter, in partnership with the Leadership Institute, is excited to announce that we will partner with the Lincoln County Department of Social Services again this year to sponsor 20 Angels for the holiday season.  The collection period is scheduled for Nov. 13th-28th. Yearbooks
Yearbooks for each level are on sale through Jostens now.  LCS produces three different yearbooks, and direct links to purchase yours are below.  Pricing increases December 14.

Please note that students in both Lincolnton and Denver share a combined book at each level, so there is no need to differentiate between campuses.  

Yearbook Recognition Ads
Now is the time to start gathering those photos of your “babies” young and old.  In addition to high school seniors, elementary and middle school “graduates” will have the opportunity to be featured in the ads section of their respective yearbooks this year.  Go to Jostens.com to upload pictures, enter your message, choose your layout and pay for your ad.

Feel free to bring your child to the fair yourself before or after school or send money for your child to shop during school hours! We have awesome new features this year! LCS Fall HS Awards Night
December 3rd- 7pm in Machado Gymnasium (HS Fall athletes only, MS Fall awards night is in May).

Holy Angels Basketball Tournament
The men’s basketball team will be playing in the Holy Angels Hoops Tournament on Saturday December 1.  

Tickets are on sale now

Tickets are good for all 4 games on Saturday, plus a Charlotte Hornets game on January 17.  Proceeds go to support the Holy Angels Program out of Belmont, NC. Come out and support your Eagles and the Holy Angels.  For more information, contact Coach Gabriel.

Engaged Eagles
Hoping you had a relaxing Thanksgiving break because there are several new volunteer opportunities available this week!  There is the Scholastic Book Fair, separate setting testing, creating classroom material, Zumba, and opportunities to share how you use math or Spanish with your job. Elementary Winter Holiday Program
Thursday, December 13th, 6:30pm (6pm student drop off)
Machado Gym, Upper Bldg
This is always a great evening and a wonderful way to get in the Holiday spirit. Elementary students should be dropped off at the Upper Bldg by 6:00pm, wearing Red Uniform Shirts and Khaki bottoms. Our awesome Elementary Music Teacher, Tracy Lykes, is looking for volunteers before the event, please reach out to her directly if you are available to volunteer.

Our next PTO Meeting will be held Monday, December 3rd at 6:30pm in the Upper Building Multi-Purpose Room. Meetings are held the first Monday of each month, unless otherwise communicated. Check our Facebook Page for up to date information.

Elementary Excitement
Jr. Eagles Fun Night Out Series November
The Jr. Eagles Fun Night Out Series presents our next event.  Christmas is around the corner, so please join us for our “Polar Express Pajama Party.”    It will be held on Friday November 30th from 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm. Doors will open at 5:20 pm.  The Series events are for Kindergarten through 5th grade students. Parents drop off kiddos for a fun-filled night, leaving  opportunities to enjoy a date night out, a relaxed night in, or working on your Christmas to do list. Register by Tuesday November 27th for the Early Bird Pricing for this event on MyPaymentsPlus for $13.00 per student. You will still be able to register after this time frame on MyPaymentsPlus, but at our regular rate of $20.  Hope to see you there! Art Contest for the Yearbook
Are you a starving artist?  Would you like to show off your best work.  Consider submitting some of your best work to the Elementary Yearbook Artwork Contest!

Middle School Moments
8th Grade Atlanta Fundraiser
The Attractions fundraiser for the Atlanta trip will end this Friday, 11/30.  For participating students, all “sample” books must be returned or accounts on MPP will be charged.  Early next week, Gerber will receive the final allotment of credits for our trip and will begin to start issuing credit for those that participated in the fundraising.

7th Grade Camp Weaver Trip
We are happy to announce that LCS will continue our partnership with the YMCA’s Camp Weaver for the 7th Grade Overnight trip.  The trip will be April 8-9 and include a trip to UNC Chapel Hill. Potential chaperones, please make sure you get your interest form back to school by December 14.

MS Nest Egg Drop
Our MS Nests are currently working on creating containers that will allow an egg to withstand a drop from the MS Building roof.  If you would be interested in watching this event, it will take place December 14 at 10 am (weather permitting.)

Growth Mindset through the holiday season

HS College Information Nights
Lincoln Charter School will be holding information sessions for
– Parents of 9th and 10th graders on Tuesday, January 29, 2019
(8:30 am at the Denver Campus and 6:30 pm at the Lincolnton campus)

– Parents of 11th graders on Wednesday, January 30, 2019
(8:30 am at the Denver Campus and 6:30 pm at the Lincolnton campus)

Sessions are open to all LCS parents regardless of which campus students attend.  Topics to be covered include a brief overview of: Tips for College Planning, College Resources for Students/Families, Choosing the Right College, College Visits and Deadlines, and Financial Aid Resources.  Sessions will last approximately one hour in length and time will be provided for questions.

If you do not have an exam during a period, then you do not have to come to school.
You may not take any exams early.
You may not leave a testing session early.
There are no exemptions for Midterms
Midterm Grades will be calculated within the 2nd quarter
Students are not allowed to leave campus and come back during the day.
