Water Walk Follow Up
Water Walk 2019 was a success! Thank you to everyone for your support as students learned about the Global Water Crisis and advocating for clean water for all by 2030.
149 students participated in the Water Walk on Friday.
100 Water Filters have been funded!
Water filters will be distributed in Guatemala through a partnership with Habitat for Humanity Guatemala. A special thank you to the Denver Lake Norman Rotary Club who partnered with the Leadership Institute and funded 42 of the 100 filters.
Water is a precious resource that is a requirement for life. The efforts of the Lincoln Charter Community will directly impact over 500 individuals in Guatemala! Thank you!

Carowinds Gold Season Pass-Discounted
We are already looking ahead to summer…
Lincoln Charter School has arranged for our families to enjoy the season at Carowinds at a discount again! Carowinds Gold Season Passes are currently available for purchase on My Payments Plus for only $95; that’s approximately $20 in savings!
This is a great benefit for our LCS Summer Day Camp campers. Every week the Denver and Lincolnton Summer Day Camp campers, rising 3rd through 8th graders, and 9th through 12th graders who serve as Counselors in Training, travel to Carowinds. The approximate cost for a day pass to Carowinds is $45+ tax, that equates to around $400 for the summer! A Gold pass purchased through LCS will save close to $300!
Deadline to purchase through MPP is Wednesday, March 27th, 2019. Once the vouchers are available for pickup in the front office, you will receive an email. You will take your voucher with you to the park to have your permanent ID card made.

AP exams, EOGs, EOCs, and high school class exams are posted with the time and date of each testing session. As a friendly reminder, EOCs and EOGs are state-mandated exams students in those respected grades are required to take. Please contact your building administrator if you have questions or concerns.
NCHSAA Leadership Conference
Four LCS Student-Athletes were chosen as representatives for this year’s NCHSAA Leadership Conference. Ally Wrenn, Sarah Post, Sarah Langford, and Blake Nelson accompanied Coach Ross at the conference. Ally Wrenn helped lead the conference by representing the entire Region 6 in the NCHSAA.
West/Midwest Basketball Game
Jackson Gabriel and Lavontae Knox represented Lincoln Charter in the annual West/Midwest basketball game. The game features the best collection of talent from the region to play in this exhibition game. Coach Gabriel was also selected to coach.
Stand up to Cancer
On Friday, March 22nd the HS Baseball team hosted Bessemer City as a part of Major League Baseball’s Stand-Up-to-Cancer event. During the game, both teams Stood Up to Cancer by honoring and recognizing those that have been impacted by this disease.

Eagle Volleyball Clinics
For any rising 9th-12th grader who is interested in trying out for volleyball next year, there will be an interest meeting held on Monday, April 8th at 3:15 in Coach Lauren’s room (Denver Campus, lower building room 129). There will also be an interest meeting in Lincolnton on Wednesday, April 10th at 3:15 in the HS gym. This meeting is for the players only. There you will receive information on summer workouts, camps, and tryouts. If you are unable to attend the meeting, please fill out this form so the coaches can forward you the information. Do you remember what it felt like to be new at Lincoln Charter? A new program is kicking off this spring and you can be a part of it. Lincoln Charter is looking for families who want to share their enthusiasm and knowledge to help make all new families feel welcome. Are you motivated and willing to call new families on a regular basis to connect and answer questions? You may make a lifelong friend and of course, you will share your Eagle pride. The opening day of baseball will be celebrated in high school this Thursday. Volunteers are requested to assist with a hot dog lunch while students participate in baseball style contests outdoors. Come out and enjoy the afternoon! Sign up here
We are looking for EOG (End of Grade) test proctors for May 13-22. Please consider taking the time to volunteer for at least one test. This is a state-mandated test that requires a proctor in each classroom. There will be a short training/informational video that you can watch at home. Elementary Box Top Contest
April 1st – 5th
Box Tops are a great way to earn cash for LCS classrooms! Please clip your unexpired Box Tops and send them into school with your child April 1st – 5th. You may use the form sent home or just send them in a Ziplock bag. Extra copies of the form will be available from your homeroom teacher if needed.
Three elementary Home Rooms will be announced as winners and will receive a Slushie Party!
Chick Fil A Spirit Night, Denver Location

Please join us at the Chick Fil A Denver location for Spirit Night. The special is available for MOBILE orders only and you can drive thru, do curbside, or eat inside! You may get to even see some of our awesome LCS teachers there who will be working shifts to raise money for LCS.
Elementary Spring Parties
Friday, April 12th, 9:30 am-11:00 am
Spring Parties are scheduled for Friday, April 12th for K-5 classes. Your room parent will communicate more details and volunteer needs. Anyone arriving before 9:30 am will be asked to wait in a separate waiting room to prevent distraction for the students, teachers, and room parents.

Middle School Moments
7th and 8th Grade Overnight Trip Information Sessions
Wednesday, March 27 – HS Multi-Purpose Room
7th Grade – 6:00 pm
8th Grade – 7:00 pm
These sessions will provide the specifics of the trips, and the expectations for the students and families. Health forms and waivers will also be distributed at the meeting.
Attendance is not mandatory but is highly suggested. A digital copy of the meeting, as well as pertinent forms, will be sent via email. Attendance, however, will allow for personal and group Q&A.
Information pertaining to the students not attending the trip will be distributed at a later date.
Save the Date
April 11th all rising 9th-grade students will travel to Kate’s Skate for the annual Rising 9th Grade Info Session. This fun and exciting event is a day for current 8th-grade students to celebrate their time in middle school and begin to prepare for high school. Students will have time to skate, eat lunch and hear from current high school students about the Lincoln Charter High School Experience that they are about to embark on. There is not a charge for this event. All students are registered.
Families are invited to attend the 9th Grade Info Session on April 25th at 7:00 pm in Machado Gymnasium. This session will include information from the administration and academic counselors to help you prepare for the transition to high school.
Mix-It-Up Lunch will take place on Wednesday 4/3. The next music theme is “Hits from the 80s.”

Lost and Found
Lost and Found will be cleaned out on Friday, March 29th. Please have your student take a last look at the items before it is cleaned up. You can assist the return of your student items by labeling every belonging that could be set down and forgotten. There are many water bottles, lunch boxes, shoes, and books.
