Engaged Eagles
EOG week is off to a great start!  Contact Brenda DeYoe or call the front desk if you need to make changes to the schedule.  Also, bring your driver’s license with you to scan yourself in at the front desk.  You will need your identification every time you enter the building.

Volunteer of the month: Shelly Manfredi. Congratulations!  Her son has been an LCS student for 6 years. Shelly helps the TAs in whatever grade her son is in. She also introduces colonial kids’ life and habitats to first grade, and wagon trains to the 4th-5th grades. To see more, click here.

Thank you to the Spring Festival volunteers who helped put on a wonderful family event.  The students really enjoyed the art stations and bounce house. Extra thanks to the gentlemen who packed up and lugged that bounce house to the pick up area.

Please try to log your volunteer hours before the end of the school year.  If you have more than 30 hours, your family name will be posted in the last Charter Chatter on Tuesday, May 21st. Click here to log hours.

Every year, Lincoln Charter asks for input from our families in several ways.

First, we ask that you vote in this year’s School Board election. These parent-elected School Board representatives serve our community in many ways.  You can access this year’s ballot here – School Board Ballot.  Voting closes on 5/17.

We also need your input on our annual parent survey.  Our admin team and staff review these results each year.  This helps us to evaluate our service to our community. Please take the time to complete this survey; your response will help us grow and improve!  You can access this survey here – Parent Survey.

LCS Required Signatures 2019-2020
All students returning for the 2019-2020 school year will need to have a completed Required Signatures form on file.  Get ahead of things by completing your student(s) form now! This will help us ensure all of our records are current. A form needs to be completed for each LCS student.

Middle School Moments
EOG Testing May 13-17th
With EOG and EOC testing happening this week, teachers are planning on doing review sessions with students as well as mixing in brain breaks to help ensure that students are not stressed about testing and are able to focus as they take their tests. That being said, there will be times when teachers bring students outside to do their active brain breaks. For this week it would be good to send the following with your child:

  • Water bottle
  • Sunscreen
  • Possibly a towel to sit on in case they eat lunch outside

MS Promotion
Middle School Promotion will be May 22nd at 7:00pm in the MS/HS Gym. Please note that 8th grade students do not return to school on May 23-24.

MS Schedule
As we near the end of this school year, the time has come for rising 7th and 8th graders to choose which electives they would like to pursue next year. We are always looking for ways to increase the electives we offer to students and are pleased to announce that we are adding art and chorus to our course offerings moving forward. We have discussed this with rising 7th and 8th grade students and have sent home forms they need to use to choose their elective for next year. If your child has not returned this yet, please remind him or her to turn it in to homeroom teachers. Copies of the forms are below, along with a copy of the rising 6th grade schedule. Please note that the schedules are subject to change.
