Field Day this Wednesday

*Students may wear any shorts, any t-shirt, and tennis shoes.

*First grade is scheduled to finish at 10:45.

We will return to the elementary campus for lunch.  Generally, the students are exhausted from all the fun and heat, so we take it easy the rest of the afternoon and enjoy a movie.

*The school will provide snacks, lunch (pizza), dessert, and water for students only.  If your child has special dietary needs, please send a snack and lunch to school.  Parents are welcome to join us at the MS/HS location from 8:30 to 10:30.

Early dismissal on Friday at 11:30

We need to be cleaned up and ready to go at 11:00.  The parking lot must be clear at that time in order for the buses to pull in.

Thank you for all the cards, flowers, and gifts I received in honor of Teacher Appreciation Week.  It is a blessing to be part of the Lincoln Charter family.   I hope your summer is full of simple pleasures.

ENJOY LOTS AND LOTS OF BOOKS!

I will be unable to join everyone on Friday.  My family will be driving to Indianapolis for an early morning graduation ceremony on Saturday.

End of the Year Party

I can’t believe it is the last week of school.  The students have worked so hard this year and we are so proud of each and every one!  They have learned and grown in so many ways.  We will miss them all next year!

I have had a few people ask about what academic activities the students can work on over the summer.  The workbook called “Summer Bridge Activities” is available at Barnes and Noble as well as through Amazon.com.  It contains 15 minutes a day of activities in reading, language, and math (there’s even some science and social studies).  It helps keep the students “fresh” through the summer and prepared for the fall.

I hope you all have a spectacular summer and will look forward to seeing my “former” students in August.
