CMC Athletic Trainer Program
Lincoln Charter and Carolinas Medical Center (CMC) are pleased to announce an athletic training partnership, which will result in two general services to all Lincoln Charter athletes.
First, CMC will provide a full-time, licensed athletic trainer who will work with Lincoln Charter's middle school and high school athletes during fall, winter and spring seasons. This athletic trainer will work in conjunction with the LCS athletic department, LCS coaches and administrators to offer on-site athletic training and monitoring throughout the 2011-2012 school year. This program is offered to LCS at no charge.
Second, CMC will test LCS athletes through the Heart of a Champion program. The Heart of a Champion screenings check for heart abnormalities that could lead to sudden death and may include an electrocardiogram and echocardiogram. Neither heart test is offered during a routine athletic screening. Also included are orthopedic and general medical screenings. This screening, which is valued at over $1,500, will be done with no cost to LCS or individual athletes.
