Debbie Byars

My name is Debbie Byars. I hope everyone has had a great summer and is ready for an fabulous school year. I am very excited to be teaching the 5th graders Science and my homeroom class Social Studies and Writing. I have been a part of the Lincoln Charter School family for over eleven years. I have served on the School Board, PTO president and full time volunteer. I love this school and believe in our mission. I know I have been called to teach and will do my best to help your child have an enriching academic experience.

I have been happily married for over 23 years.  We had two beautiful children, Luke and Hannah.  Hannah graduated this year from LCS and will become a pirate at East Carolina University in the fall.  She has grown into an amazing young lady and we are very proud of her.  Please pray for her first year at college.  Luke graduated to heaven on January 12th, 2008.  He made a bad choice that cost him his life and broke our hearts.  God has been faithful to us and comforted us through some of our darkest days.  Every year we award a scholarship to a LCS senior in memory of his life. This scholarship gives us an opportunity to sow seed into a young adults life with hope that they will make a difference in someone elses life.  Donations can be made to LCS- Luke Byars Scholarship.
