Hello! My name is Tara Haug and I am an Exceptional Children's Teacher for K-5 for the 2012-2013 school year primarily working with students in 3-5. I thoroughly enjoy the teaching profession and all the rewards it provides.
A little about myself. I was born and raised in Salisbury, North Carolina. This is my 7th year at Lincoln Charter School (5th year in the Exceptional Children's Department and 2 years previously as a second grade teacher). Before coming to teach at LCS I taught three years in first grade for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School system. I graduated with an undergraduate degree in Sociology and a minor in Criminal Justice from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. I also attended Queen's University where I received my Masters of Art in Teaching (MAT) K-6. In 2009 I received my certification in Special Education as a Highly Qualified Teacher for grades K-12 followed by my National Board Certification in Special Education in 2010.
I have two children that attend LCS. My daughter is in 2nd grade this year and my son is in Kindergarten.
I look forward to a wonderful school year and all that it entails!
