Fall College Preparedness Updates

It has been an active start to the 2019-2020 school year, and many of our high school students are already setting their sights on their higher education.

College Application Week took place October 21st – 25th. All grade levels at Lincoln Charter participated in College Spirit Week, but it was especially rewarding for our seniors. During the week, 12th grade students at both campuses participated in a College Application Day. This day was an opportunity for us to celebrate our seniors, and for them to spend their day working on college applications, grants and scholarships with the help of our academic counselors and staff. Combined (Denver and Lincolnton), our seniors completed over 1,000 college/grant & scholarship applications! Great job, Class of 2020! Our senior picture "Wall of Fame" was also installed to track college acceptances throughout the school year.

Aside from the multiple college readiness activities for seniors, all high school students have had the opportunity to hear from and visit multiple colleges and universities. We have had students visit UNC Asheville, NC State, Belmont Abbey and App State. At each school, our students heard from Lincoln Charter alumni, in addition to touring and experiencing the campus.

So far this year, we have had representatives from the following schools visit our campuses and speak to our high school students:

Lenoir-Rhyne University

Radford University

Presbyterian College

Elon University

Guilford College

St. Andrew's University

East Kentucky University

Coastal Carolina University

UNC Chapel Hill

Johnson and Wales University

UNC Charlotte

USC Columbia

UNC Asheville

Lees-McRae College

Davidson College

UNC Greensboro

Eastern Carolina University

Our students are off to a great start and we look forward to even more college visits to come this year. We are especially excited to watch our seniors enjoy their final year at LCS while they prepare for their future endeavors!
