TEAM RULES
-
Our Captains for this meet are, for the men Cutter Law, and for our women Jillian Aganad. Captains are an extension of the coaching staff. If they ask you to do something, listen. These individuals were picked because of maturity, common sense and dedication to the program. They will not lead you in the wrong way. They are also experienced in running and competing in high school. They know the rules!
-
We will follow the itinerary. I have set a schedule for us to keep. We are creatures of habit and structure will assure a smooth trip and meet.
-
Alternates will be expected to keep the same schedule as the rest of the team. Your position is of utmost importance. If something happens you are the go-to people. Take that seriously.
-
Lights out means lights out! Saturday will be a day with many physical and emotional demands.
-
After lights out, men and women runners are to stay in their assigned rooms. No one is allowed in others' rooms at this point or any other floors of the hotel. You will know the coaches room numbers and can call if you need us for anything. It may be a good idea for some of you to stay in your parents rooms so you will stay out of trouble and get rest. If this becomes a problem I will personally drive you back to LCS and drive back to the meet without you OR I will place you in your parents or a coach's room.
-
Remember this is not a vacation/party trip. We are here focused and with a goal in mind. Keep each other accountable.
-
Absolutely no flirting or hanging out with opposite sex from other teams. They are here to compete as well and do not need added distractions.
-
If you are dating a team member of our team please keep all PDA away. We are here for a purpose.
-
Hydrate and fuel your body properly. No junk on this trip.
-
Stay positive and uplift all team members.
-
Follow all rules of Cherokee High School/NCHSAA/NFHS while we are there. Remember, cheer for your team and not against the other teams.
-
This meet is about LCS T&F. Let’s keep our focus on that. While we are at regionals, that is our primary focus and the most important thing at that time.
-
Stick to your warm up warm down schedule. Follow the meet so you know when to be ready. All the little things add up to big things!
-
Room assignments, special accommodations will be made and approved by coaching staff
-
ALL SPIKES NEED TO BE CHANGED OUT THE NIGHT BEFORE. NO WASTING TIME IN THE MORNING.

COVID-19 Information and Forms:
Physical Examination Form should be dated on or after March 1, 2019.
Pre-Participation Evaluation Due to the timing of the Stay at Home Order and restrictions some areas may have participated in mass Pre-participation Physicals as they have in the past. In May, the NCHSAA recognized this issue and allowed for a one-year extension for many student athletes. The approved regulation now states: All student athletes who had a valid Pre-participation Examination (PPE) form dated anytime between March 1, 2019 – May 1, 2020 (used for the 2019-2020 seasons) will be granted a temporary one-year extension through the end of the 2020-2021 academic year.
If the student does not have a valid form from these dates, they will need an updated physical form prior to any summer workout or season participation.
**Please be reminded that the student-athlete/family medical history portion of the PPE Form is required annually and must be completed and signed by the parent or legal custodian prior to participation during the 2020-2021 academic year. There is no waiver or extension applied to this requirement
|
2019-20 NCHSAA Sports Pre-Participation Form: Rev. March 2019: Sports physical form to be completed by a physician.
Note About Pre-Participation Form: Due to the extraordinary circumstances created by the COVID-19 pandemic resulting in school closures, a one year emergency addition to the State Board of Education Policy, ATHL-001, Interscholastic Athletics, has been approved by the State Board of Education on April 23, 2020.
