Walking through the hallways of the middle school, you might hear the sounds of “La Bachata” floating down the stairwell.
Ms. Sandi’s Latin American Dances class regularly practices the basic steps of salsa, cumbia, bachata, merengue, and more! The class is one of a variety of offerings that we have during "Eagle Hour", where all the Middle School teachers hold classes around their personal talents and interests. Students and staff alike have embraced it as an opportunity to go beyond a traditional "home room" time, and share their passions beyond the curriculum.
During the class pictured, students were dancing to a rhythm called Bachata, which Ms. Sandi shared is probably their favorite. According to her, "The song itself is called "La Bachata", and it's from a singer named Manuel Turizo, it's super catchy and very popular on TikTok."
