This year’s Pink Out was another huge success in terms of fundraising, and a great opportunity to spread awareness about a disease that has affected so many in our community. On October 31st, students dressed from head to toe in pink and participated in fun activities across campus to raise money for Go Jen Go, a local non-profit dedicated to providing critical financial assistance to local individuals and families who are battling breast cancer. They provide aid during diagnosis, treatment, and recovery, and we are proud to have partnered with them for this event.
At our Denver Campus, students arrived at school with pockets full of dollars to put toward pink hair spray and pom-poms. They also used their cash to vote for who would get to be principal for a day, which teacher would have to kiss a goat, and which would receive a pie to the face! Students could also buy pieces of duct tape to tape their administrators to the wall - we call it “Stuck for a Buck.” There was the annual dodgeball game, and we added a massive round of musical chairs! After two years of having to hold back on the celebrations, it was fun to really go big for Pink Out this year.
At the next home basketball game, high school students on the Eagle Advisory Council were able to present Go Jen Go with a big check made out for $7,590.30!
