This March, students from middle and high school and staff members from both campuses joined together to present the biggest production in Lincoln Charter School history: Seussical the Musical, directed by Mr. Jarrod Bennett.

Occasionally, we are offered a visible example of why one may choose to attend a K-12 school, and this production offered plenty. Elementary students had the opportunity to view a preview performance during the school day, but those who came to the evening performances were treated as well. During intermission, the cast strolled through the crowd, interacting with the younger children, much to their delight. Students in the concession stand sold Truffala Tree-themed treats and many in the audience sang and danced along with our middle and high school performers.

Audiences were beyond impressed with the theater program and the work of those involved. The hours of preparation were obvious to anyone who viewed the final product, and freshman Savannah Nichols lifted the curtain for us on exactly how much work that was. She said, "The best part of Seussical for me was growing and learning alongside my classmates. In the beginning of the rehearsal process, we couldn't even remember the dance for the first song. But we all stood by each other and helped each other learn so that by the end, we could run through the whole musical in only a few hours! My cast mates made this journey 100 times more fun... and they are always there for me on and offstage."

The production was a huge success and all of Eagle Nation is looking forward to seeing what the theater department is working on next!
