Red Cross Blood Drive
LCS will be hosting a blood drive on January 9th through the American Red Cross from 10:00 am -2:30 pm in our MS/HS Gym. Our goal is 51 pints of blood! To sign up for a donation time please visit American Red Cross. You can locate our blood drive by going to the “Find A Blood Drive” box and putting in our zip code, 28092. You will then scroll down to locate Lincoln Charter School on January 9th. You can then select your donation type and time. If you have any questions, please contact Jessica Kelly. High school students must be at least 16 years old to donate and must meet the Red Cross donation criteria. Parental permission is required for all 16 and 17 year old students through a consent form students must pick up from the MS/HS Front Office. Thank you in advance for your donation!
Coffee & Conversation
All families are invited to join us for Coffee & Conversation with members of Administration. These sessions are an opportunity for you to meet with your student’s building administrator over coffee and light refreshments. We look forward to conversations to strengthen our community. Latin Honors Criteria for Graduation from LCS
Summa Cum Laude: >=4.51 and above Weighted GPA
Magna Cum Laude: 4.36-4.50 Weighted GPA
Cum Laude: 4.25-4.35 Weighted GPA or 4.0 Unweighted

MS Pancake Breakfast
The annual Middle School pancake breakfast is this Wednesday. Thank you to the many volunteers who have signed up to make this event possible. The link as a reminder can be found here .
The PTO wishes all students, families and school staff a safe and happy holiday break.
Volunteering at Lincoln Charter School is increasing and Eagles are Engaging daily to reach the 30 hour goal. The unofficial total for the Denver campus is over 1,000 hours! Have a safe and warm winter break and check back here for more volunteer opportunities in 2019.
High School Happenings
We did not have enough interest for Powderbuff participation. Therefore, all students who purchased shirts will be refunded. The refund will be to the original payment method. Refunds are being processed this week.
Under the Sea Homecoming Dance
The dance is rescheduled for Saturday, January 5th from 7:30-10:30 in Machado Gymnasium.
Tickets are open on MPP until December 19th at noon for $15 a ticket, and tickets will be available at the door for $20.
This is a semi-formal event; no jeans or shorts allowed.
Non-LCHS guest forms are due no later than December 19th at noon. They will not be accepted after this date or at the door.
All participants must check in at the dance by 9:00pm.
HS College Information Nights
Lincoln Charter School will be holding information sessions for parents of 9th and 10th graders on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at 8:30 am at the Denver Campus and 6:30 pm at the Lincolnton campus.
Information sessions for parents of 11th graders will be on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at 8:30 am at the Denver Campus and 6:30 pm at the Lincolnton campus.
Sessions are open to all LCS parents regardless of which campus students attend. Topics to be covered include a brief overview of: Tips for College Planning, College Resources for Students/Families, Choosing the Right College, College Visits and Deadlines, and Financial Aid Resources. Sessions will last approximately one hour and time will be provided for questions.

ACT Prep for Juniors Opportunity
Mrs. Granzen is offering an ACT Prep opportunity for juniors in January and February. Please view details here. If you are interested in having your student attend the class, or are a student interested in taking the class, please email Mrs. Granzen and Ms. Kelly so we can be prepared. This is a great opportunity! Students who took this in the past have had solid increases in their scores.
