From September 23rd through October 4th, Ms. Straub’s AP Spanish Language and Culture class will be hosting a Pulsera sale. Students will be selling bracelets (pulseras) and purses (bolsitas) from 7:30-8:00. The sale will be in Ms. Reed’s room (elementary), Ms. LiVoti’s room (middle), and Ms. Straub’s room (high school). This week, the sale will also be held in the high school marketplace during lunches. Cash will be accepted.
Funds raised from our pulsera sale will benefit countless Central Americans, raising money for scholarships, secondary education programs, human rights issues, environmental projects, youth shelters, and social enterprises, in addition to sustaining employment for nearly 200 artisans in Nicaragua and Guatemala.
On top of the impact abroad, pulsera sales change the lives of students in the U.S. as well, educating them about life in Central America while cultivating student leadership and awareness of global social issues.nEach day we will be tallying the number of pulseras and bolsitas sold in order to announce the education, employment, and housing benefits we will be able to fund.
